Fishing with a Lake Vermilion Guide
Are you visiting Vermilion for the first time? At White Eagle, we highly recommend fishing with a guide, especially if this is your first Lake Vermilion trip or if you are not a frequent visitor. The Lake Vermilion guides are experienced and passionate. They find the fish and do their best to help you catch them.
When you fish with a guide, you get information you need to increase your catch during the remainder of your trip. You will find out where to fish, what bait to use, and if you don't know a lot about fishing you can even learn some helpful techniques. Do you need fishing equipment? No problem. The guides have all the equipment needed for a fishing outing. Some even have snacks.

Boating on Lake Vermilion
As the southernmost lake within the Canadian Shield, Vermilion has topography similar to Canadian lakes but is far enough south that the temperature warms up for great swimming in the summer months. With 40,000 acres of water, 340 miles of shoreline, and 368 islands, the lake is an adventure to explore. Stop and lunch at one of the shore lunch sites with your fresh catch! Is Vermilion too big for you? Although big, the lake is well marked and easy to navigate. You have access to daylong trips or can stay close to White Eagle. Good fishing, a restaurant and ice cream shop are minutes away; and, Head of the Lakes Bay is perfect for water sports and swimming.
To maintain a peaceful environment we ask that you refrain from bringing personal watercraft (Jet Skis) to the resort.
If you are bringing your own boat, you'll enjoy our easy to use boat launch, complimentary private docks with electrical outlets for battery charging and onsite premium (91 octane) fuel.
Please help prevent the spread of aquatic invasive species by cleaning, draining and drying your boat before transport.
If your boat has been in contaminated waters, stop in the town of Cook on your way to White Eagle for a courtesy decontamination.
