Fishing Report - September 14, 2016
Sunfish/Crappies are being caught in good numbers. Try shallow weedy bays with a crappie minnow and slip bobber.
Bass action remains good. Largemouth can be found in shallow weeds and around docks. Most typical largemouth presentations will work. Smallmouth can still be found on their deeper summer rock structures and some on shallower gravel/rock bars or flats.
Pike can be found in abundance in shallow weedy areas. Sucker minnows and spinner or blade baits have been best. Glide and twitch baits during the day-time have also been producing.
Walleye action seems to be confined to short windows of activity in either the morning or evening. Try minnows in transition areas or on rock reefs in 18-25 feet of water.
Muskie fishing has been excellent. These fish have been moving and eating topwaters, bucktails, rubbers and gliders. You can’t go wrong casting shallow weeds or rock. The trolling bite has been producing as well.
